Brook House Inquiry announces decisions on Core Participant applications

In April 2020, Kate Eves, Chair of the Brook House Inquiry, formally invited applications from individuals and organisations who wished to be considered for Core Participant status. A deadline was set for 19 May 2020.

The Inquiry received 16 applications, including those which the Chair referred to in her Opening statement on 21 April 2020.

Having considered each application received, the Chair has now, in total, granted Core Participant status to six individuals and six organisations.  In addition, the Chair has provisionally declined to grant applications from four organisations.

Those who have been granted Core Participant status have been invited to attend a Preliminary Hearing, planned for 25 September 2020.  This preliminary hearing will be a virtual hearing that will also be streamed live on the Inquiry’s YouTube channel.

Those who have been provisionally refused Core Participant status will also be able to renew their application at the preliminary hearing and have been asked to provide written submissions by 4 pm on 11 September 2020.   Further information about those granted Core Participant status will be placed on our website here.

The Chair is keen to hear from other potential core participants or witnesses.  Any further applications for Core Participant status will still be given consideration.
